Our farm is certified to ACO standards (Australian Certified Organic).
Which means that we do not use any sprays, pesticides or herbicides on or near our Macadamia nut trees.
No chemical fertilisers are used on the property either.
We let nature do the work! The farm has 25+ years of natural biodiversity built up that keeps a balance of both good and bad bugs.
Yes, we do end up losing some of our production due to pests. However it is a worthy sacrifice to ensure that we grow the cleanest produce possible.
We use a finger wheel harvester, the nuts get stuck in the fingers which roll on the ground as you drive forward.
The Macadamia nuts then get ejected into augers which take it to a bin at the back of the tractor.
We then take them back to our de-husking shed to remove the outer husk layer of the Macadamia nut.
They are then visually inspected and sorted before being stored and dried in a silo until the end of the season.
This step requires specialist equipment. We contract this out to a processor who is also certified to ACO standards.
The Macadamia nuts need to be dried to a specific moisture content level to ensure the best shelf life possible.
They are then packaged to our requirements and returned to our farm.
Our raw Macadamia nuts can be purchased in different styles depending on what they will be used for. All of our flavoured Macadamia nuts are style 4.

In order to provide the longest shelf life possible our organic Macadamia nuts come sealed in a triple layer foil pack.
When following the recommended storage instructions by keeping them unopened at a temperature below 20°C, 12-24 months can be guaranteed.
If you keep them unopened in the fridge or freezer at a temperature below 5°C a much longer life could be obtained.
However once opened their shelf life will be reduced. We recommend that you then store them in a sealed container in the fridge to preserve the nuts and stop them absorbing moisture from the atmosphere.
We store all of our produce in a large commercial fridge that remains between 3°C and 5°C all year round.
We use Australia Post to deliver our organic Macadamia nuts Australia wide.
